The Monmouth County Historical Association (MCHA), founded in 1898, collects, preserves, and interprets materials relating to this region's rich heritage. Recognized as one of the country's leading regional history organizations, the MCHA maintains and operates a museum, an extensive library and archives, and four historic sites. The Museum collections, remarkable for their quality and scope, are displayed in changing exhibitions at the museum and furnish the historic homes. They include furniture and other decorative arts, costumes and textiles, ceramics, portraits and paintings, folk art and military objects.
